Thank you for downloading my script. Here's the instructions.. 1) Installation Installation should be pretty simple, the only decision that you'll need to make is where the script is going to live. The script will create a directory named amlist in whatever directory it exists in, so make sure that on the very rare occasion that you actually have a directory named anilink somewhere that you upload the script to a different directory. In other words, if you already have a directory at /public_html/anilink/, upload the script somewhere OTHER than /public_html. Once you've decided where the script is going to live, upload it there. If your FTP software gives you the choice, make sure that you upload it as ASCII, not binary. Congratulations, the install is complete! Now it's time to configure the script. 2) Logging into your admin page To log in to your admin page, simply open your favorite web browser and enter the URL of your mlist.php file into the address window. You should see a page asking you for a password. The default password is "password", without quotes. Now that you're in, you should be able to figure out what to do, but feel free to keep reading if you need more help. 3) Changing the password I'd really suggest changing the password immediately, as "password" is a really, really bad password. To do so, scroll to the bottom of the admin page and use the "Change your password" form. 4) Making the script look "right" You have 3 basic ways to customize the look of the script. The first is your header. This can be entered through the "Change the header" form. Anything that you put in that form will be placed between the <body> tag and any HTML the script generates. The second way to change the look would be with the footer form, which works just like the header except anything you put in it will go between any HTML that the script generates and the </body> tag. Finally, you can use the "Change your settings" form to change colors or use a .css file. 6) Linking to your archive The script will create an archive directory named amlist in whatever directory you uploaded mlist.php to. From the administration page, you can also generate the HTML to make a form that allows people to subscribe to your mailing lists. 7) HELP! If you find yourself lost, go to http://www.animusprogramming.com/mlist/ and click the help link. 9) Losing the links The script will generate small links at the bottom of each page it creates back to my site in order to pay for itself. If you'd like to lose those links and help me out a bit please consider buying the professional version of the script at http://www.animusprogramming.com/pro/mlist/
