smb4php uses the smb client program to access Windows network shares, so it works under Linux, other Unix platforms or even under Windows with the Samba client packages installed.
Functions to create, read and write to files in the local network shares, are implemented. smb4php can also list the local network hosts, available shares in an host, and directories of a share.
