AjaxHandler is a PHP script for dealing with bare bone AJAX requests. AJAX operations via PHP are not as easy to write as in jQuery, since PHP's scope is not as much for XHR as in regular scripting languages.
AjaxHandler provides a common interface for initiating and dealing with AJAX requests, smoothing out problems and some exchange format interoperability.
